THE THEORY OF RECOVERY.
It is against the view of the first theory of fading. According to this theory, fading doesn’t happen in memory. A forgotten fact is not something faded but just misplaced. Since the information is misplaced, human mind is not able to remember it. Practically, both these theories point to the same fact. Here also whatever is misplaced can be brought back to the right position through review or revision.

THE THEORY OF INTERFERENCE.
This theory says the problem of forgetfulness is due to the limited space. As a person gains new information, there arises a conflict between the old and new one. As a result, human mind forgets that information which is weaker. The possible way to avoid this problem is to connect various pieces of information. When you connect two ideas, there comes a relationship between the two. Thus, the conflict comes to an end and both the pieces of information will be remembered.
Conclusion: If you learn many different ideas at one time, you will forget much of them. It is said that in such cases, one remembers what is read first and last. Whatever comes in between them is easily forgotten. A solution for this problem is to study one subject at a time. When the various ideas are connected to one another, they can be easily remembered. Just think of a chain. Though it has a great number of links, they can be pulled easily, holding one end. It is just because they are interconnected. It is the same with ideas too. If they are interconnected, you can pull them out, holding one end.
STEPS TO GOOD MEMORY POWER
We always make the memory to do its job for us. But we do not think much about how it functions and how its efficiency can be improve. The effectiveness of the memory can be surely improved. The steps below will surely help you to do it. If you make use of these tips, it will not be difficult for you to remember what you have learned. Each point is helpful in entering information into your long term memory.
- BE INTERESTED
You have to engage your interest in the subject you are hearing. One of the main reasons for not remembering something is his lack of interest in the topic. You have to approach a topic with a necessity for knowledge. The intensity to understand more and become successful will surely make all interested.
So many reasons are there to loose interest in a particular thing or subject. The first thing you should do is to find out that particular reason. One of the main reason may be your disbelief that a particular matter is out of your talents or tastes. You have to get out of this confusion by knowing that taste or talent is something which is created in ones mind. You don’t like a thin or subject, just because your thinking is made in such a way that you don’t like it. The moment you understand about it, extend some kind of intimacy for it and spend a little bit of time to understand it, you will begin to love it and generate interest on it.

Another reason behind disliking a subject or thing may be one’s dislike towards the presenter. His or her way of presenting the things, speeches or attitude might have created in you an ill feeling. As a result, a tendency get started to dislike the thing or subject altogether. One professor might have scolded you. But it doesn’t mean that you should take a negative approach to the whole study. Moreover, you have to think that does the professor lose anything when you don’t learn it? No. Practically nothing. Now, it is your duty to take it as a challenge, study well and show them that you could accomplish it.
Another reason can be the compulsive nature of your elders and parents. Their behavior, over expectation from your side etc. might have completely destroyed your interest in something. Here also, a proper understanding of the situation will help a person to avoid a problem of disfavor for a subject. After all, your parents have all the rights to expect you to do good things; because it’s for you they work hard. Naturally, it’s the dream of every parent to see the child successful in life. If you are a parent, the story won’t be anything different.
There are again some students who think that some subjects are useless. For example, one may think study of Science is useless. If you continue with this way of thinking it will surely lead to dislike a topic. We have to understand that each and every piece of knowledge is very important in life. Sometimes, your knowledge in Science may help you to score good rank in an examination or quiz. Moreover, it will also help you to learn more about plants and animals. In short, you have to understand that all things in this world are beneficial, in one way or other.
Understanding the value of knowledge is also helpful in developing interest in a topic or subject. There is a very meaningful proverb “Knowledge is Power'. You may be successful in acquiring a great deal of wealth in life. However, it is something that can be lost at any moment. When it comes to knowledge, it is a wealth that is never lost or stolen. Moreover, it will make you successful too. Now, the summary of what we have discussed above is very simple-love what you learn and be interested in it. When people are interested and want to learn, they learn and remember more effectively.
